We’re introducing a new product line this week, a set of Giclee Fine Art Mounted prints. In case you aren’t familiar with Giclee prints, Giclee fine art printing offers one of the highest degree of accuracy and richness of colour available.
Giclee fine art prints enable us to provide affordable, high quality reproductions of original artworks which will be on exhibition from the 29th July
What lead us to make Giclee Prints?
First up we tested the water with a small range of products, the ever popular blue lobster, red crab and claw to tail cards sold well. We went from popping in to top up stocks on shelves every fortnight to at least once a week. So we knew the product line was working but what really pushed us helped us make up our minds was customer feedback. Customers wanted to frame them, give as gifts or our put them in mounts. That’s when we realised we wanted to do something a little more special and started a limited run of Giclee Prints.
What is a Giclee print?
Giclee (pronounced Gee’clay) is a French term meaning to spray or squirt, which is how an inkjet printer works. Yet unlike a standard inkjet printer there are no mechanical devices used do you don’t get a dot screen pattern. This spray method means hues, tones and colours are faithfully reproduced from the original artwork. The inks used also means great archival quality with increased resistance to fading unlike inkjet printed works.
You mentioned limited prints?
It would be easy to keep reproducing and reselling over and over but we want your fine art print to be a touch unique. To do this we decided on a run of 500 only for each fine art print.
Can I order a different size?
We’ll certainly aim to accommodate. Take a look at the available Giclee fine art prints and send us an email with what you’d like.
We really love the look and feel of these prints which really portray the artwork in the best possible light.
